MARK.art collects and uses your personal information to operate its website(s) and deliver the services you have requested.
When you place an order on the Art Shop, you must provide your first and last name, a valid email address, phone number, billing address, shipping address, and credit card number. I will use this information to fulfill the order you place and to communicate with you about it.
MARK.art uses your information for three purposes:
- To fulfill the orders you place on the Site;
- To answer any customer service inquiries that you may have;
- To understand the shopping habits of my customers to better serve them in the future.
Information collected or received
MARK.art does not share any personal information with any other parties. At no point will I use any collected information to solicit any kind of marketing or promotional offers.

The website uses cookies to improve and personalize your experience on the site by remembering you or your preferences during your visit(s) to the site.

What is MARK.art?
MARK.art is owned by Mark de Kievit. Mark is an abstract painter, based in The Netherlands by whom this website is owned and operated.
About purchasing artworks online
I have made every effort to display the colors and structures of my paintings that appear on this website as accurately as possible. However, I cannot guarantee that your monitor’s display will accurately reflect the color and tone of the real thing.
All information provided is approximate and is provided in good faith.
Any contract we enter into will be covered by the Dutch and the European (EU) law.
By placing an order with me and paying for your artwork you agree to and accept these terms, as well as my privacy policy, and the terms of website use.
How can I trust purchasing on MARK.art?
I put 100% effort into creating my art and ensuring you as a happy art lover. My goal is to make my art affordable as possible and thus add color to your life. I am aware that safety and trust are very important, and as a frequent online shopper myself, I take it very seriously. When you purchase an item on MARK.art, I hold your payment safe until you are fully satisfied when you received your artwork.
How to purchase on MARK.art
If you wish to purchase an artwork please use the Art Shopping cart. Make sure to fill in the right name and delivery address. Once I successfully received your payment I will notify you that your order has been processed.
All prices quoted on this website are in Euros and exclusive of VAT. This will be calculated for your country once an artwork has been added to the shopping cart and a shipping address is filled in.
Note that for non-EU countries there may be international custom charges for importing goods that are the buyers responsibility.
Once your order is complete I will notify you of the dispatch date (normally around 3-5 days after checkout).
Can I buy directly outside the Art Shop?
Yes, if you wish to purchase an artwork directly, outside the Art Shop, please email me the artwork #number and your delivery address.
I will reply as soon as I received your purchase request. In this email I confirm the final price and the total shipping charges of the artwork before you commit to buy anything.

Once I successfully received your payment I will notify you that your order has been processed. You will be required to pay for the artwork in full at this time of ordering. At this point the purchase is official.
What forms of payment does MARK.art accept?
The Art Shop accepts payments with iDeal, PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Bancontact, EPS and Sofort. All credit cards used for payment must have a valid billing address.
It’s also possible to make your payment by direct bank transfer.
Are my payments secure?
All orders are encrypted with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology on both your end and mine. SSL encrypts all of your personal information including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet. In order for SSL to work, you must use an SSL-enabled browser.
For your own safety I do not save any payment information. Payments are made directly through Stripe—certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1, the most stringent level of certification, so I can guarantee that important information stays confidential and private.
Shipping & Return
How long does it take normally for an artwork to arrive?
My artworks will be dispatched to the parcel delivery service within 3-7 business days. Delivery is normally within 2-3 working days in the Netherlands and 5-14-21 days for other destinations.
Can I follow my package?
Yes, your ensured package will be delivered to the address you specified in your purchase request. You will receive a Track & Trace to follow the package and when to expect your delivery. I will not accept responsibility for loss or damage if you instruct the delivery company to leave the goods unattended.
Disposal of packing materials is your responsibility.
After two failed delivery attempts (or if you are not at home for an agreed delivery) the goods may be returned to me where I reserve the right to charge you an additional re-delivery charge.
If you change the delivery address once the goods have been dispatched to you, I reserve the right to pass on any extra charges made by the delivery service for redirecting your delivery.
What if my package is damaged?
Please check the artwork on delivery – any damage should be notified to the delivery driver at the time of delivery or to me within 3 days after delivery.
If the artwork is lost or damaged in transit, please let me know immediately.
What if my country is not listed in the Art Shop?
If your country is not listed, please contact me so we can make your purchase together.
How much will the delivery cost me?
This is subjective depending on where the package is sent from and its destination. Also the size of the product and delivery type (standard or express) will affect the price. Delivery costs are clearly stated on the checkout page while buying*.
*Some countries may charge customs and duties for your parcel. You are responsible for these customs and duties charges.
Can I cancel and return the artwork?
Yes, you can cancel your purchase at any time within 14 days after the day of delivery. To do this, please send me an email (reason for cancellation is not necessary, however a brief explanation will help me to improve).
If you cancel, you must return the goods within 14 days of cancellation, complete with the original packaging to me at your own expense. Items must be in their original state. You are responsible for ensuring the goods are returned to me in its original state and without any damage.
I will refund the costs of the artwork in full after I received the item in original state. Delivery charges are not refunded.
Treatment of artworks
How do I keep my artwork in best condition?
It’s evident that you wish to take care of your artwork with due care. Following guidelines are given for correct handling and protection of the artwork:
- Do not hang a painting in full sunlight (for too long). This way you prevent it from discolouring;
- Do not place above a heat source or in a damp room;
- Do not touch the painting with hard or sharp objects;
- Do not clean the painting while it is hanging on the wall. This way you prevent it from falling on the ground and dirt is no longer your only concern;
- Use a clean cloth or soft brush that you haven’t used for anything else before. There will always be residual dirt and dust particles in a canvas that you don’t want on the painting;
- Lay the painting flat and do not push too hard, otherwise you will damage the canvas and structures;
- Do not clean the painting with water. Moisture can also damage the structures and the varnish layer;
- Make sure there is no smoking in the house. Tar from cigarettes gives a painting a yellowish nicotine deposit.
MARK.art can not be liable for damage to the artwork that arises as a result of incorrect treatment.
The artwork is damaged. Can it be repaired?
At your request, I will make myself available for (any advice on) restoration and repair work on the basis of a reasonable fee.
I am liable for construction errors and/or hidden defects that occur within 1 year after delivery of the artwork, on the condition that you report this in writing to me as soon as possible after discovery of this defect. A reasonable solution will be sought in mutual agreement.
If repair of the damage as referred to in the previous paragraph is not possible, I will pay a compensation that does not exceed the original sales price (including any discounts).
After 1 year after delivery of the artwork my liability expires.
Account
Am I required to register before making a purchase?
No, you don’t have to register to purchase an artwork. The benefit of having an account is that it lets you keep track of your orders’ status from your dashboard easily.
Registering is quick and easy, only a password in addition to the email address that you provide is required.
How do I change my email settings?
To change your connected email address or change your email notifications, follow the steps below:
- On the upper right hand corner of any page you’ll see a link called ’Account’ or your username if you’re signed in.
- Click on your username to access your user account dashboard.
- Select “Account settings”. You are then able to change your connected email address, shipping address, and specify if you’d like to receive email from MARK.art.
